Network Version Upgrade
1. Prior to performing steps 1 - 5 Below first Shutdown the License Server.
2. From Windows go to Start, Programs, Startup and click on the
License Server icon.
3. Once the License Server window appears click the Shutdown button.
4. At this point follow steps 1 - 5 below.
Single Station (non-network)
1. Backup your Plexis POS system by copying the entire Plexis POS 28 folder
to backup media of your choice. You can use the standard Windows Backup
program or simply copy the folder to a CD-ROM, USB Memory Device, Tape Drive
or to a temporary folder on your Hard Drive.
If you need assistance with this step you can consult a local technician in
your area or you can purchase support time from us.
2. Archive your invoices. If you keep a maximum of 13 months of detailed data
or even better 3 months or less the upgrade will process quickly. If you
do not archive the upgrade to take many hours up to several days to complete
depending on how many invoices are active. The Archive utility is found in
the A/R module under the Invoices Tab.
3. Exit Plexis POS from all terminals
4. Download
and install the new version. A file rebuild will occur at this time.
DO NOT interrupt this process or your databases will corrupt and the system
will not run.
5. Many changes occur in updates so it is wise to download the
latest POS User Guide and review
all settings and operations.
