INSTALLATION FAQ

Single Computer (non-Network) Installation:
Run the downloaded program file BTFULL.EXE. The Plexis POS Installer will start automatically. No additional steps are required to install Plexis POS on a single computer system.

Network Server Installation:
Follow these steps very closely. Obtain professional networking help if required.
Run the downloaded program file BTFULL.EXE. The Plexis POS Installer will start automatically.
After installation:
Share the ENTIRE Plexis POS Folder for use by all Workstations.
Set Full Read / Write access on the Plexis POS folder as otherwise the Workstations will not be able to fully access the POS system. No additional steps are required to install Plexis POS on a Network Server.
We recommend:
100 BASE-T or faster Network Adapters, hubs, swiches and routers.
Wireless networks are NOT recommended or supported in Plexis POS

Network Workstation Terminal Installation (Multi-User):
DO NOT install multiple copies of Plexis POS on the Workstations. Workstations MUST be mapped using the shared directory or folder name on the server.

Network Workstation Driver Installation:
You MUST install the Workstation drivers [BtWorkStationSetup.exe] on EACH and every Workstation. The BtWorkStationSetup.exe driver program can be run by browsing to the shared Plexis POS folder on your network or downloaded directly to the workstation from our web site (CLICK HERE).

Network Workstation Computer Setup:
Run Plexis POS from the mapped network drive ONLY. There is no need to have Plexis POS installed on a local Workstation. For example if Plexis POS was installed on the server on a logical drive K: - You must map Workstations to something like
"K:\POS 29".

Running Plexis POS on a Network Workstation:
From the Workstation (not the file server) open Windows File Explorer, choose View Details From the toolbar menu. Map to the shared Network Drive or Folder. You will then see a file list. RIGHT mouse click on BT.EXE then choose Send to Desktop. This will create an icon that will access the POS program over the network on the shared drive.
